Towards a Jazz Pedagogy: Learning with and from Jazz Greats and Great Educators

Throughout this article we argue that collectivity and soul inform the work of expert teachers who refer to as Jazz Pedagogues. Jazz’s complicated history, like teaching, calls for a consideration painful, messy, beautiful, healing. We, team university researchers classroom teachers, examine ways jazz can serve one way understand how Black-centric, anti-racist English draw on their pedagogical prowess skillfully engage with students love, care, clear focus justice.
